Abstract

Sungrow Research Center has established a European Hydrogen Technology Laboratory in Munich, Germany, underscoring its commitment to advancing global green hydrogen innovation. Strategically located within Munich Airport Business Park, the facility will serve as a hub for developing water electrolysis and Power-to-X (P2X) technologies, in alignment with Europe’s rigorous hydrogen development standards.
The lab is designed as a state-of-the-art, safety-first platform, fully compliant with German regulations (ASiG, GefStoffV, and BG RCI). Equipped with an eight-fold ventilation system and real-time hydrogen and oxygen monitoring, it ensures secure operations for its international research team. The facility integrates material fabrication, component testing, and digital data analysis, creating a closed-loop R&D chain from material development through to system validation.

Currently, the laboratory houses four specialized divisions—Physical, Optical, Chemical, and Electrochemical—featuring advanced capabilities such as 3D printing, SEM microscopy, and high-precision PEM assembly. With dedicated space for future growth, the lab is positioned to expand its testing and research capacity as new technologies emerge. Its globally recognized test stations provide highly accurate, pressurized electrochemical characterization.
